Diolite 532nm Laser
The Diolite laser is a 532nm wavelength laser that is used to treat blood vessels of the face (telangiectasias) and superficial spider veins on the legs. The Diolite also removes cherry spots from the cheeks, neck and arms. This is one of Dr. Oleszek's favorite lasers, "I can see immediate disappearing of facial and nose blood vessels."
Hemoglobin in the blood vessel absorbs the laser's energy, this heats up the vessel causing thermocoagulation (clogging) of the blood, leading to fibrosis of the vessel and eventual resorption.
Treatments usually last 20 minutes with minimal discomfort like a snapping rubber band. Sometimes there is a mild redness or scabbing of the area after treatment. Typically, 2 or 3 treatments are needed for optimal treatment.
