Subcision is used to treat large dimples associated with cellulite and acne scars on the face. This minor surgical procedure is done in the medical suite at La Fontaine. The fibrous tissue that pulls the skin down, causing the depression/dimpling/scar is released with a special needle. After local anestheia is given this procedure is virtually painless. Compression bandages are applied after the procedure. No heavy activity is recommended for 48 hours after the treatment, and antibiotics are usually prescribed preventively.
