At La Fontaine in Denver, we offer natural fat transfer in Denver to restore lost facial volume. One of the most exciting developments in aesthetics, the procedure involves harvesting fat cells from another body area with an excess, purifying it, and injecting the cells to restore lost volume.

A Natural Dermal Filler with Long Term Results

The purified fat cells are used as a dermal filler – and are your own cells, recognized by your body. Once transferred, a percentage of the cells begin to flourish in the new location for an exceptionally natural, soft effect.

The areas of the face that can be treated with natural fat include:

  • Cheeks
  • Chin
  • Beneath eyes (hollow eye troughs)
  • Brow

Am I a Candidate?

If you are one of the many people who are unhappy with an extreme loss of facial fat volume, you may be a candidate for autologous (from you) fat transfer in Denver. This treatment can be a natural alternative to the standard dermal fillers. The treatment can be of great benefit to patients with allergies who are not candidates for synthetic dermal fillers.

Should I Try Natural Fat Transfer for Facial Rejuvenation?

While synthetic facial fillers are often the chosen treatment for decreased facial volume, some of our patients prefer a more natural treatment – and what could be more perfect than your own fat cells? The cells are transferred to the sunken or emaciated area of the face, creating a fresh, plumper look that can last far longer than a synthetic filler. This treatment can be very effective when a great deal of dermal filler would be required to correct extensive lost volume.

Can I Smooth Wrinkles and Lines with Fat Transfer?

Natural fat transfer treatments can be used to smooth lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of deeply-etches laugh lines, or restore a more youthful look to sunken temples. Some of our patients prefer natural fat transfer due to the safety of the procedure, as the body easily accepts its own cells – there is no risk of reaction or rejection. For very extensive facial fat loss, you may need more than one treatment to achieve the look you envision.

Fat Transfer vs. Dermal Fillers

At La Fontaine, we perform both fat transfer treatments and dermal filler injections. These two different ways to rejuvenate the face may be used singly or in combination, based upon the needs of the patient. The advantage of fat transfer is that the enhancement is longer-lasting. The plumping effect can last years. Dermal fillers break down over time, requiring retreatment at intervals.

The Fat Transfer Procedure: What Should I Expect?

To prepare for your treatment, we will advise you about what to avoid, which includes aspirin or other blood thinning medications or supplements. When you arrive for treatment, the first step is the extraction of the fat cells from another area of your body, such as buttocks, thighs, or abdomen. We employ an advanced, gentle liposuction technique to protect the extracted fat cells from damage. After the fat is extracted, it is purified in a centrifuge so only the fat cells remain. These fat cells are then carefully and artistically injected into the sunken facial area to bring back lost volume.

Recovery from Fat Transfer

Fat transfer for facial rejuvenation does not require a long and painful recovery. Some swelling or bruising may occur. Typically, only a day or two off work or other activities is needed to feel back to normal. At La Fontaine, all of our procedures are performed under the watchful eye of our board-certified physician, Dr. Ken Oleszek. We focus on patient safety and health.

We are proud of our reputation as the premier facial rejuvenation clinic in Denver, and for creating very natural looking, beautiful results.
