We offer this advanced procedure to successfully remove large surface varicosities (bulging veins). During Ambulatory Phlebectomy, the diseased veins are pulled up and delicately removed through very small micro-punctures that do not require stitches. The procedure is often a more efficient way to treat surface veins than using multiple sclerotherapy sessions.
The procedure is done under local anesthesia and is relatively painless. Compression stockings are recommended after the treatment and side-effects are usually limited to bruising and swelling around the treatment sites for 1-2 weeks.
Often phlebectomy is performed in conjunction with Endovenous Laser Treatment which addresses the deeper veins. The long term results for these two treatments together are very effective.
